Action Plan
Possible Solutions
Improving access to speech-language pathology services for Spanish-Speaking families requires action from professional, schools, clinics, and the community. Solutions should focus on communication, trust, education, and culturally respectful care.
Hire and train more bilingual speech-language pathologits and assistants
provide Professional interpreters instead of relying on childern or family members to translate
Create Spanish-language flyers, websites, and videos explaining speech language services
offer parent workshops in schools, clinics, libaries and community Centers
Use culturally appropriate assesment tools for bilingual childern
Build partnerships with Tampa Bay schools, pediatric clinics, and hispanic community organizations
Teach families about their rights in school based services, evaluations, and treatmeant planning.
Main Idea: Families should not have to choose between their home language and recieving quality communication services
